Why do you love the cat and pet it and why do you allow cruelty to the pig, through the decision you make, when you are in the supermarket?
I´m a vegetarian since childhood but ate chicken& fish again for a little while, to realize that it´s no good in every co-relation.
Almost a year ago I turned into vegan. It´s not hard. Only if you believe its hard it will be. Get over and on with it.
Although I must admit I loved fish, after several books and everything that I found out about the mass industry we live in, continuing eating meat would have been like denying the holocaust.
I´ve written a former post on veganism and why for me, there is no more discussion on this subject and everybody trying to find excuses is just not well enough informed and finding excuses.
The system is sick and we are the ones who can change this by our choices.
Now, I even would say, that if you want to live a healthy life, the future is being a Raw vegan.
Even Soy products are only healthy to a limited amount. We are nature, we are living beings so we should put living food in our bodies not dead, cooked stuff.
Open your eyes to the cruel system which is insane. Millions of Pigs, Cows and Chickens are being slaughtered in the most cruel way you can imagine, you are just not looking at it.
By not acting in your food choices, you are allowing it to be a part of your society.
Besides of all the health issues, which are caused by eating meat, (it´s proven, if you still need all the scientific researches), meat eaters are more anxious, depressed, fearful etc.
So be mature and realize, that you have the choice to be aware about what is going on and looking away is actually saying "Yes" to the mass slaughter and mass milking of ill, terribly treated cows.
No excuses. No jokes about it. I don´t care where you studied. If you don´t understand this, you did not understand real compassion.
The most common excuse heard by meat eaters is: "Where do you get your protein?"
Ok guys, do me one favor, please ask a Gorilla where he gets his proteins from....
...Or a Cow, or a Brontosaurus....
This is not to punish you, but to make you realize your power on changing things, by deciding today whether you act on something you deeply know inside and feels truthful, or you continue acting unaware just because it´s "easier"...Create new ways of being!
In order to help the planet recover, we must help to limit the pollution caused by the mass slaughter and everything that comes with this subject.
A Cow would never eat you...it´s vegan...get it?!
